Jennifer Willey—Director
Mrs. Willey developed a love of dancing through attending studio dance classes at an early age. She graduated from Cypress Ridge High School and was a member of the Cy Ridge Dazzlers, serving as a dance officer for two years. After high school, Mrs. Willey attended Stephen F. Austin State University and was a member of the award-winning SFA Pom Squad. After graduating from SFA, Mrs. Willey lived in a variety of places while her husband was active duty in the U.S. Army, including Germany, Louisiana and finally settling in Katy, TX. She has taught Special Education, Kindergarten, Studio Dance Classes and has even coached Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheer. Prior to joining the Sapphires, Mrs. Willey taught for six years at Cypress Park High School and was the very first Flairs Assistant Director for three years before taking over as Head Director.
Mrs. Willey is passionate about encouraging her students and team members to develop a love and appreciation for dance as an art form and fosters the development of a growth mindset that can be applied throughout a student’s life and career, even after their time in her dance studio. Her biggest goal is for her students and team members to leave her program with a true understanding of how to represent oneself positively, how to set independent goals, to have grit and perseverance to achieve those goals, and the importance of having a servant heart.
Mrs. Willey’s goals and aspirations for Seven Lakes High School are to uphold the legacy of the award winning Sapphire Dance program, instill positive core values, community service and campus involvement, and foster a committed culture of spirit, excellence, and teamwork in all students who walk in her doors.
